How do I contact you?

If you don't find the answer on this page, email murof.atsni@troppus and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Include a link to your forum and screenshots if relevant.

If the enquiry is specific to your account, please contact us using the email address associated with your subscription.

Is Instaforum available in my language?

We currently support English, French, German and Spanish. Please get in touch if you want to see Instaforum in your language.

Can I remove all Instaforum branding?

Yes, Instaforum is offered as a white-label service. You can remove all Instaforum logos and branding, replacing them with your own.

How long have you been in business?

We've been proudly serving our customers since 2014, when we launched PlushForums, running it successfully ever since.

Can I give you a call?

We don't do phone support or sales, but we're happy to help via email.

Billing

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Yes, we accept annual pre-payments by bank transfer in USD, EUR and GBP. Please email us to arrange payment.

Are my payment details safe?

Completely. We don't store any payment information ourselves. Instead, we use a payment processor called Stripe, who are a global leader in the payments industry.

Are there any discounts?

You can get two months free each year by choosing an annual subscription. You can switch any time.

What happens if I go over my plan limit?

Members can still log in freely. If you go over the limit on a number of occasions, we'll ask you to upgrade to a larger plan.

What counts as a page view?

Instaforum never actually reloads the page in your browser. So we count a view every time you do something that would've caused a page load in older forum software.

Features

Do you support Single Sign-On (SSO) or login integration?

Yes we do, on our Standard plan and above. See our SSO page for details.

Can I embed videos?

The first YouTube or Rumble link in a post is embedded automatically.

Can I use a custom domain name?

Instaforum is designed to work with your own domain. You just need to create a DNS record that points to an address we provide.

Can users get notifications?

Email notifications are available for mentions, direct replies and when bookmarked threads get new posts. This is like subscribing to a thread. Email notifications are also available for new threads, on a per-category basis. This is like subscribing to a category.

Users are also notified in-site for mentions and direct replies.

Why am I not receiving email notifications?

Email notifications are only sent while you're offline.

Do you have an API?

Not at this time. This has never been a focus for us or our client base, but we're open to discussion.

Data and Privacy

Where is your data stored? Are you compliant with the GDPR?

Yes, we're compliant. Instaforum only uses Strictly Necessary cookies to provide the service, and therefore no consent message is required.

Our data is stored in the USA. Location, in itself, is not relevant for GDPR compliance.

Under the GDPR, your users have the right to know what personal data you store about them. Instaforum gives you the ability to export member data to CSV, so you can provide users with the relevant information.

The GDPR requires us and you to take all necessary steps to keep user data secure. We've put in years of work to develop a secure software platform, and we continually update our operating systems with all relevant security patches. We only use reputable, secure datacenters to host your information.

Finally, your users have a right to be forgotten. In practical terms, this means either wiping their forum content or anonymizing it. Instaforum offers you the ability to do both.

What happens to my data if I want to leave?

If you cancel your subscription, we promise to provide you with a copy of your data on request. Data will be provided in JSON format.

Otherwise, if you just want a copy for your own archives, we can provide data on request, for the price of one month's subscription.

Is my data safe and do you have backups?

Yes. Your data is backed up continuously, and also backed up off-site at regular intervals. We do not sell or share your data with any third parties. As an Instaforum client, you are the sole owner of your data.

Do you monitor my site?

Your privacy is of paramount importance and we do not monitor your content. Your content is your responsibility. We monitor our system status and server load, but nothing more.

Do you have an Acceptable Use Policy?

Please make sure you comply with the Terms of Service. Don't use your site to post anything that's illegal in the United Kingdom. We don't monitor your site's content, but we will comply with all legitimate legal requests.

Can I keep my forum private?

Absolutely. We provide robust support for private, invite-only forums. You can also restrict specific content or categories from non-members.

Am I able to restrict access to certain areas?

Yes, Instaforum supports role-based access control (RBAC) on a per-category basis.
